Cafe Istanbul

Happy Tuesday y’all! Hope everyone has a great day! It has been quit a week driving back and forth between home and Dallas. I can’t believe we are heading to Tyler this week for our scrapbook retreat and I’m super excited to hopefully get a lot finished but I guess we will see as I may end up catching up on sleep. Anyways, last Saturday we had lunch at one of my favorite resturants in the Dallas area as part of my Birthday month so I thought I would tell y’all about this place. Let’s get started with “Cafe Istanbul….” Continue reading “Cafe Istanbul”

Happy Spring

Happy Write It Wednesday!!

Well, we are into the third day of Spring and it certainly does feel like it outside here in north Louisiana. Of course, it also apparently got up to 90 degrees Monday. Anyways, for today’s “Write It Wednesday” I have created a mosaic type picture with my Ecoline Watercolors and Molotow Masking Liquid Marker. Let’s get started with “Happy Spring….” Continue reading “Happy Spring”

Cabbage Soup Diet

 Hello Random Tuesday!!

So, I have heard a lot of people say how gross this soup sounds; but don’t knock it til you try it, huh?! I do this Cabbage Soup Diet 2-3 times a year just to help keep my weight maintained or give me a jump-start when I’m trying to lose weight if I’ve let it go too much. This go around I started this past Sunday in hopes I would lose a few before my brother-in-law got into town with hopefully some simit from Turkey.

The first time I did this diet was in July 2004 with one of my best friends. We made the soup together at my house and did it ‘together’ during the week. Since she just lived around the block we saw each other most days. I made it through the whole week, but if I remember right, she didn’t. We mainly tried it out since I was getting ready to move down to Ft. Lauderdale, FL and she was helping me make the drive down <– it’s a 19.5 hour drive from where I live. Dallas Zoo…

Happy Random Tuesday Y’all!!

Istanbul, Turkey:

So Friday my mom and I went to Dallas to pick my sis up from the airport.  While waiting, we got the news about what was going on in Istanbul, Turkey.  I was so thankful I knew my sis was about to land in the Big D, but scared because my brother-in-law and his family was still there.  I texted my brother-in-law to check up on him and he was good.  Later on, I found out his family was all out-of-town visiting his mother’s home town so everyone I know over there was good to go.  🙂

While in Dallas, we decided to visit the Dallas Zoo since in my memory I have never been and even if I had, they’ve updated since then.  We also went to see “The Secret Life of Pets” at the Studio Movie Grill in the area we always stay in close to family.  Unfortunately, they were all sick so we didn’t get to visit with them.  The movie was great!  If you haven’t seen it yet, you need to go.

The Big D Zoo:

So today I wanted to focus more on the zoo.  I love zoos almost as much as I love aquariums.  One of my items on my bucket list is to visit every aquarium and zoo in the States and as many as possibly outside the States. Continue reading “Dallas Zoo…”

Hello Random Tuesday!!

I hope everyone is having an AWESOMENESS and Safe 4th of July!!  Just a few of my cousins are coming over and to get in the pool for a bit but we aren’t popping any fireworks.  However I have been busy trying to keep up with these challenges I’ve been doing on Instagram, so I thought today I would share a few so you can get a peek of what I’ve been posting.  Please keep in mind, I’m not much of a picture drawer and I’ve only been practicing my brush calligraphy since the beginning of March this year.
