Young Living’s Starter Kit Part 1

Happy Oily Thursday!

Last week I introduced the basics of what comes in Young Living’s Starter Kit and said over the next several weeks I would be doing a series talking about two of the oils more each time. So, today I am starting with two of the most popular ones that most use basically everyday, multiple times a day. These two are the Lavender and Peppermint Essential Oils. Let’s get started with Young Living’s Starter Kit Part 1…

Young Living’s Starter Kit Part 1

Young Living's Starter Kit Part 1Personally, I used these more when I was in school (unfortunately a different brand so I was using way more than necessary at a time). These days I use my Lavender but with Young Living I found early on not to use it during the day as I will fall asleep. Luckily, that day I had my Peppermint with me too and was able to perk me right back up. Another lucky thing was I was working for my cousin and they understood what happened, seeing as it almost put my cousin sitting behind me to sleep too. ?

Craftsy Lavender Essential Oil:

Young Living's Starter Kit Part 1According to Young Living’s website, Lavender “has a scent that’s a wonderful blend of fresh, floral, clean, and calm. It’s this dynamic aroma that has made the flower a classic for perfumes, soaps, fresheners, and beauty products. As one of our most popular products, Lavender oil is a great beginner oil and a must for every home.

Lavender essential oil isn’t just a favorite because of its classic scent—it’s also highly versatile. From skin care products to relaxing routines, this oil can infuse many areas of your life.”

Teavana.comI mainly use Lavender these days at night in my diffuser and in my sleep potion roller. Occasionally, when I know I’m not leaving the house, I will use it on a a cut I may have gotten.

Peppermint Essential Oil:

Young Living's Starter Kit Part 1According to Young Living’s website for Peppermint, it is “[f]resh, nostalgic, and instantly recognizable, Peppermint essential oil’s scent invigorates the mind and senses, while inspiring a sense of peace. Used topically, Peppermint oil creates a cool, tingling sensation on the skin, making it a favorite for sports massage and an important part of Young Living’s Raindrop Technique®.

When your day is dragging—through a workout, class, or day at work—enjoy some Peppermint oil benefits by applying it to your head and neck. The refreshing aroma will give you a boost of positivity! Peppermint is also a great option for diffusing on its own or with compatible scents such as Lavender, Rosemary, Spearmint, or Sage!”

Since using Young Living, I use Peppermint to help keep me awake especially when am driving. I love driving but my eyes not so much. Before Young Living I would always stop at Cracker Barrel for a bag of their peppermint sticks and let me tell you, Peppermint Essential Oil is a lot cheaper over time as far as the cost goes and cheaper in calories. Just saying!

Since Peppermint out of the Starter Kit part of the Vitality line, it is safe to ingest. Which brings me to, something else I’ve been using Peppermint for lately is in my hot chocolate. Yummy! I love hot chocolate to begin with and I love peppermints in general but to put these two together it just makes my day! Speaking of, I think I’ll go make me some right now! ?

Lavender is also great to use for acne, burns, and hair growth. I am currently using Young Living’s Lavender Shampoo and Conditioner and my hair looks great! Since every oil reacts differently with everyone, you could also use it high blood pressure, PMS, and nervous tension.

For Peppermint, it can also be used for things such as headaches and nausea. If I ever have to do microscope work again I will definitely have this one with me at all times. I can also almost guarantee you I will have it with me somehow when out on the water in the boats. Though, knock on wood, I’ve never gotten sea sick before, there is a first time for everything and it’s better to be prepared than not at all.

NORDSTROM - Shop Women's work wearThere you go, Young Living’s Starter Kit Part 1 on Lavender and Peppermint Essential Oils. Though, I didn’t go through all of the many multiple ways to use each of these essential oils, this at least gives you an idea of what they could help with for you and your family. Hope you enjoyed!
