Summer 2016

It’s Write It Wednesday!

So if you haven’t read Make It Monday’s post go ahead and read it first then come back to this post. Alright, now you are updated and know what I have in store today with my “wooden treasures” from Make It Monday’s post. I wanted to do something with my wooden cutouts but I wasn’t quite sure what at the time other than a scrapbook page; however, since today is Write It Wednesday, I decided to use these cute little magnetic frames I picked up from Target a couple of weeks ago. This is super easy and a way to display your favorite picture from Summer 2016! Let’s get started…

Summer 2016

Things You’ll Need:

  • Wooden Treasures
  • Magnetic Frame
  • Embossing Pen
  • Heat Gun
  • Embossing Powder
  • Adhesive
  • 4 by 6 picture

Step #1:

Summer 2016 Magnetic Frame -- Visit CraftyJBird.com for more infoLike I said before, I purchased my magnetic frame from Target a few weeks ago. In the Target close to me it was close to their notebooks. If this particular frame isn’t available any frame like it should work.

Step #2:

Obviously, you can write whatever you want on the frame, but I thought since I didn’t know exactly which picture I wanted to use, I would just put a general title. I have a picture in mind but I still have to it printed. Don’t have a printer or time to print pictures out? Be sure to visit Snapfish.com for all your picture printing needs!

Summer 2016 Magnetic Frame -- Visit CraftyJBird.com for more infoI decided to emboss the frame and use my blue embossing powder. Initially, I used my Versamark Embossing Pen, unfortunately; it was so thick it went over the space I wanted to use. Here’s a video to show what I mean about it being too thick for the space.

It’s not a brush pen like the Versamark but it stayed in the space. Here’s a video showing my process for writing and embossing on the finished frame.

Step #3:

Summer 2016 Magnetic Frame -- Visit CraftyJBird.com for more infoAfter I was finished embossing my frame, I placed my two “wooden treasures” on it and played around of where I thought they would look best. Then using my 3-D glue dots, I adhered them to my frame.

There you go! Another project finished and ready to put to use or use it as a gift.
