Extreme Owie

It’s Oily Thursday!!

Hope everyone is having a great week so far! Tonight is the Saints fourth and last preseason game. Who’s as excited as me? Though they haven’t won a game in the preseason, I believe! A couple of weeks ago my “Scrap It Friday” post was delayed due to unforeseen circumstances; so, today I thought I would share the reason why and what has helped more than anything else. My “Scrap It Friday” post was delayed because well first of all, I have yet to really write my posts in advance so they have been going up the day of ?; this week (knock on wood) I seem to be able to finally get ahead some. Secondly, after getting back from Target and a few other errands, my mom fell on the hard kitchen floor. Due to her stubbornness, she wouldn’t let me take her to the doctor or anything.

Well after she took some over the counter medications she was still in severe pain and was not able to walk without using her walker. (If you’ve read my previous posts you would know why she has a walk to begin with). So, I decided I would make her some of my Essential Oil capsules similar to the ones I made for myself after I had my hip surgery last year.

The Back Story

If you’ve read my “Managing After Hip Scope Surgery” post, you would know I was taking a capsule with Frankincense, Idaho Balsam Fir, and Copaiba Young Living Essential Oil twice a day. Well, due to running out of my Idaho Balsam Fir Essential Oil, I decided to try a substitute. Knowing Marjoram Essential Oil was great for pain, I decided I would try it with the other two.

The first few days I was using the original three essential oils, and mom wasn’t in as much pain. After running out of my Idaho Balsam Fir Essential Oil and using my Marjoram Essential Oil; mom started sleep longer during the night and walking a little better with her walker. Finally on that Monday morning we convinced her to go to our orthopedic doctor up the street.

Once at the doctors, they took x-rays and found out mom had a compression fracture in her lower back. He gave her a prescription for a higher dose of an over-the-counter medication and told her to take it easy. The medication worked a little but she was still in pain.

Over the weekend she ran out of the prescription and couldn’t get a refill. So I started making her more of my “Extreme Owie” capsules. Mom is now convinced the capsules are helping more than the prescription or any other over the counter medication has thus far. Though I absolutely hate mom fell and hurt herself so badly, but it just shows essential oils are all you need.

Frankincense Young Living Essential Oils:

Extreme Owie -- Visit CraftyJBird.com for more infoFrankincense Essential Oil is used for so many things there are too many to name. It can help not only with pain but also with dry skin, dark spots, stress, your immune system, and so much more.

Copabia Young Living Essential Oils:

Extreme Owie -- Visit CraftyJBird.com for more infoCopaiba Essential Oil like the others is great for pain but also can help with inflammation, stiffness in the joints, and so much more. Most people will also use it as a magnifier towards other oils. This means it helps other oils work harder.

Vegetable Capsules:

Extreme Owie -- Visit CraftyJBird.com for more infoThese are the capsules, as mentioned before, I use to make my ‘pills.’ They are easy to fill as long as you don’t over fill them.

Making the Extreme Owie Capsule:

To make my “Extreme Owie” capsules I first add 4 drops of Marjoram Essential Oil. Next, I add 5 drops of Frankincense Essential Oil and finally, I add 5 drops of my Copaiba Essential Oil to not only be for pain but also for the magnifier for the other two. Once all the oils are in, I put the top on to close it.

There you go, another version of a capsule when something hurts really bad. Personally, if you have the Idaho Balsam Fir Essential Oil and you don’t hurt so bad, I would use it. However, if you are hurting as much as I have described that my mom has been in since falling, I would use the Marjoram Essential Oil in replacement for the Idaho Balsam Fir Essential Oil. I would definitely have both on hand as well as the others I have talked about in this post.
